MEET THE NIGERIAN FASHION GODDESS- TIFFANY AMBER!

That's one Fashion Icon I admire so much in the fashion industry. So beautiful and gorgeously dressed with an unveiling smile attached. It's my pleasure to introduce to you, Folake Folarin-Coker, popularly known as Tiffany Amber. This  Fashion Goddess in 1998, launched Tiffany Amber, revolutionizing the Nigerian fashion industry. Born in Lagos, Folake schooled in Switzerland, England and Scotland; then relocated to Nigeria in 1998 to become a lawyer. Despite holding a masters degree in Petroleum Law, her love for fashion reigned supreme over all. Having spent most of her childhood in Europe exploring different cultures, she successfully translated her passion to the foremost fashion brand in Africa with outstanding global recognition.

In 2008, she added two more fashion lines to Tiffany Amber Nigeria: Diffussion Line (TAN by Tiffany Amber) and Couture Line (Folake Folarin). Each line is distinctive but together represents the designer's iconic style. In the same year, it was actually her first time of showcasing at the Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week in New York. The collection was heralded by such rave review that Folake was invited to showcase for the second time making her the first African-based designer to showcase for two consecutive seasons at the New York Fashion Week.

Folake Folarin-Coker won designer of the year at the African Fashion International (AFI) in 2009 in Johannesburg. The AW 2011 Fearless Luxury collection won "Fashion Brand of the year" at the Arise Magazine Fashion Week. The brand is, without a doubt, fast becoming the premier African lifestyle brand.

Thirteen years after launching her label, Folake has become a mainstay in the fashion industry as she continues to develop a strong design philosophy by staying true to her vision of a true woman. Recently, she topped rank 2 on the top 10 Nigerian Fashion Designers. Isn't she great? She has indeed done us proud internationally, and inspired lots of up coming fashion designers in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.I believe the sky will be her starting point.
TIFFANY AMBER, I LOVE YOU! *WINKS*

AMERICAN HOMELESS STREET DANCER AIR-WALKS AT THE AMERICA'S GOT TALENT COMPETITION.

Hmmm... After watching this video, please do not try what you see at home. its crazy and awesome.   It's all about creativity, originality and being good at what you do.

Alonzo Jones a.k.a Turf, an american street dancer, took the bull by the horn by taking into dancing as a profession after school. Being that his Mum never supported his dream of being a dancer, Turf got kicked out the house, rendering him homeless. Two years of being homeless, he hangs on the streets, dancing for a living and to raise money for his accommodation. Sometimes, he raised $50 dollars, to put up in a hotel, rehearse his steps till dawn and head out to the streets.Well, what can we say? As fate would have it, fortune shone on him on the America's got talent stage, as he walked on air and and twisted his shoulder blades... words can't explain the sight but it's best watched to understand. It was claimed that nothing of such had ever been seen by the judges. For Turf in tears, he's never done what he did on stage in his life and his dreams have finally come true...xoxo MANDY J.

BRITISH STREET HAWKER WOW'S CROWD IN THE X-FACTOR COMPETITION

Who said you cannot be what you wanna be? It all depends on you and how you make your choices, because no one will do that for you. When things don't seem pretty well, why don't you take a leap of faith and go for the extraordinary? People might boo or discourage you, but when you believe in yourself, you end up 'WOWING' the crowd. Check out this video about a young lady in Britain, Lucy Spraggan, aged 20, who sells baby stuff on the street to her baby-customers as a job, and get inspired. Her dream was to be Musician, but due to financial constraints, she had to hit the streets to keep body and soul together. She took the stage on the 'X' factor in Britain, and blew everyone away.

Believe me, you too can do it and everyone will love you for your creativity and originality...xoxo MANDY J.

CHIDINMA EKILE- FAME HAS ROBBED ME OF MY FREEDOM...

"Sometimes I wish I could just go back, walk on the road because I can't remember when last I did"- Miss Chidinma Ekile a.k.a. Miss Kedike.
The young and talented Miss Chidinma Ekile a.k.a. 'Miss Kedike'  has remained highly sought after with her songs after winning the MTN Project Fame West Africa in 2010. Several shows home and abroad are not complete without her on stage. Her fame has gone far enough to rub on her Mom and her entire family. The Pop star in a recent interview talks about her life and fame after the competition.

According to her "Sometimes I wish I could just go back, walk on the road because I can't remember when last I did. I just want to buy stuff, talk to people, take a bike and get fresh air, but that's not possible. My Mom cannot even go to the market anymore, when people see her, they are like "see chidinma's mom, say hello to her for us". I guess that's because she was on the show, so i think people knew her from there ".

It is so clear enough that she desires what cannot be easily granted to her, if only wishes were horses! well, I hope she gets it.

PINK LIP TATTOOS- The Latest in Nigerian Men's Fashion.

OMG... Who says fashion has boundries?

Sorry to burst your bubbles viewers, but the fact will always remain that fashion knows no bounds!

To prove that to you, check this video out! The pink lip tattoos have turned out to be the latest fashion amongst men in Nigeria. It could be weird to some of us, it could also be interesting to others..."One man's food is another man's poison".

It is actually believed by lovers of this trend that women find men with pink lips very attractive. *laughs* Could that be really true? Well, I guess that question is for the ladies out there to answer.

According to Battabox.com, who documented the procedure in this short video, young men pay around 7,000 Nigerian Naira ($45) to have their black lips cleaned of excess skin and tattooed with a pink paint to make them lighter. Although the guy in the video didn't show any signs of pain, having a sensitive spot like the lips tattooed can’t be very pleasant. Anything affiliated to tattoos definitely involves pain. Plus, skin irritations like keloids, swellings, itching, burning sensations are bound to occur if not done properly or could be inevitable even when done properly.

Personally and sincerely speaking, there are better ways of making black lips pink. Just removing the dirt particles, oil and dead skin cells that accumulate on the lips throughout the day and washing them with rosewater can make a big difference, or better still, a mix of almond oil and lemon juice will make the lips smoother and redder.

For this fashion trend among the Guys, what do you think?
Is it cool for the Guys as a fashion trend?
Ladies! would you have your Boo/Guy convert his dark lips to pink lips?
...xoxo MANDY J.
